Ms. Kimberly Mack, Principal
Kimberly R. Mack, principal of John P. Parker School, has spent her life, cultivating and training young people through her professional work and volunteerism. In 2001, she became employed by the Cincinnati Public Schools as an Assistant Principal. For seven years, she served in this capacity within diverse schooling environments, including the Academy of World Languages, John P. Parker School, and Oyler Community Learning Center. While serving as Assistant Principal at these schools, Ms. Mack was instrumental in securing more than $200,000 in grant funding for a variety of school and community projects to help urban children.
Ms. Mack received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Professional Writing from Miami University. In 1993, she returned to Miami University to pursue her passion for working with children and received her Master of Arts in Teaching. While at Miami University, she had many opportunities to further cultivate her understanding of mentoring, training, and empowering youth through her work with a variety of program efforts geared toward minority youth such as the Upward Bound program, Minority Professional Leadership Program, the Miami University Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Program, and the ESTEEM Program.
Upon graduating from Miami University, she was employed by the Hamilton City School District where she taught English Language Arts at Hamilton High School and Garfield Junior High School. While working in this capacity, Ms. Mack was able to use her writing ability to help secure grant funding for the first Renaissance Festival. It was during this time that she was approached by the Ohio State University Extension of the 4H program to start an urban initiative called the Martin Luther King Group, a group of youth between ages 4 - 19 years of age from throughout Butler and Hamilton Counties. Through this organization, she was instrumental in training young singers and musicians in the art of gospel music.
Ms. Mack wanted to use her abilities to help children and returned to college to pursue administrative certification. In 2000, she received a Master of Education degree from the University of Cincinnati in Education Administration. She now serves the communities of Madisonville, Kennedy Heights, Silverton, and Oakley as the principled leader of the John P. Parker School.
