in these content areas.
English/Language Arts
John P. Parker School has adopted the
Voyager Expanded Learning
program for students in grades Kindergarten - 3. Highly qualified teachers
use this research-based, proven service delivery model to produce high
achievement among primary students in small group and whole group
instruction. Differentiated learning and attention to learning styles is
embedded in this program so that all students can achieve. To enhance the
learning, technology can be integrated into the program. To learn more
about the Voyager Expanded Learning program, contact
Patsy Holmes, Primary Level Leader and Voyager Contact Person.
Hartcourt Brace curricular materials are used for
students in grades 4-6. For students in grades 7-8,
McDougall-Littel curricular
materials are used. The program is designed to give students mastery of the
specific indicators of the Ohio English/Language Arts Content Standards.
The program also has an intervention component for struggling students as
well as an enrichment component for gifted students. The program is
designed for the ease of differentiated instruction. To further increase
the rigor, the program includes a technology component.
Within the first year of using this
research-based program, John P. Parker School experienced tremendous
growth among all students, especially our students with special needs. For
more information, contact
